Bones

Bones don’t rattle,

From the burden of the mind.

Wander around,

Scattered, melting inside.

The oasis rests,

In a land you’ll never map.

Drink its water,

From the mirage under your scalp.

Scrape them off,

These sharp scales of mine.

Feed me the scraps,

Stab me with shards of time.

Bones don’t rattle,

From the burden of the mind.

But they shatter at the alter,

Where sand and destiny collide.

I start my reconnaissance,

I’m finally prepared.

Swim up the waterfall,

Leave back what you can’t repair.

Varnish the void,

Vividly vacating your vision.

Wipe away valiancy,

Vehement vows victimize volition.

Bones don’t rattle,

From the burden of the mind.

But they shatter at the alter,

Where sand and destiny collide.

So, don’t wander around,

Scattered, just waisting the melting inside.
